Message from the Principal

Dear OLOL Families,

This week at OLOL has been filled with joy, learning, and community spirit. We are so grateful for all the moments we've shared as a school family, and we're excited to highlight some of the special events that took place.

We kicked off the week with a celebration of St. Patrick's Day! Our students wore their favorite jeans to school, and our amazing teachers were treated to some Lucky Charms as a snack—such a fun way to start the week!

Our 7th and 8th graders participated in the CCHS Stand for the Silent Club event, which focused on standing up against bullying and spreading awareness about its effects. It was a powerful experience for our students, and we're proud of their commitment to kindness.

PK4 students embarked on an exciting adventure to Zoo Miami, where they explored and learned about animals. Meanwhile, our 8th graders attended a thought-provoking presentation by the Archdiocese of Miami on Greater Love conference, deepening their understanding of our faith.

On Thursday, we celebrated our school Mass, and students in grades 3-8 who are preparing for their First Holy Communion were able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. It was a beautiful moment for our students and a reminder of the importance of faith in our community.

We ended the week with a Teacher McDonald Night, where our administration and teachers had the chance to serve our OLOL families and friends in a special and fun way. It was a fantastic evening that allowed us all to come together and share in the joy of our OLOL family!

Our week concluded with a Professional Development Day for our incredible staff. They participated in a reflective activity titled Erase to Essence, focusing on stripping away the unnecessary and finding clarity in simplicity—such a beautiful exercise, especially during the season of Lent. The day also included a fun arts and crafts activity, where staff had the chance to tap into their creative sides. We ended with a special lunch, and our staff left feeling renewed, with a Prayer Quilt as a reminder of the incredible ministry we are all a part of as educators.

Did You Know?

A few of our staff members participated in a class led by Mrs. Michelle Rodriguez and her husband on Consecration to St. Joseph. On March 19th, they were consecrated to St. Joseph in a special Mass — a powerful moment of faith for our community.

We were blessed to welcome Father Michel Daubaunes, the rector of the Sanctuary at Lourdes, who visited our community. It was an inspiring visit that reminded us of the power of prayer and devotion.

Our very own Mrs. Baez created a beautiful painting of the Sanctuary at Lourdes, and you can find a special column dedicated to this piece in this Sunday's church bulletin — don't miss it!

Middle School students have been participating during school hours in a Flag Football Tournament, under the guidance of our amazing coaches: Coach Tudela, Coach Chio, and Coach Villalobos. We can't wait to see how they continue to grow and excel in atletics.

So many incredible things are happening within our OLOL community, and we are beyond blessed to be part of this vibrant and loving family.

Have a wonderful weekend; we look forward to everything next week will bring!
