Hi!

I am Laura Sanchez

Assistant Principal

I am from Miami, Florida

I've been working at OLOL since August 2000

"Our job is to prepare your child for heaven. If they make it to Harvard, that’s a bonus."
- Mr. Thomas Halfaker

About Myself

As a child, I wanted to become a police officer or to be involved in law enforcement. I used to be a basketball coach, and I enjoyed tutoring many of the athletes on my team, which helped me make the decision to seek a Master’s degree in education. I decided to become a teacher after I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.

As Assistant Principal, I participate in all events at OLOL. My favorite project is managing the social media for OLOL.

I believe each student should strive to do their best in all things. A positive attitude, humility, gratitude, integrity and hard work are essential to success. I also teach our students to always be kind to everyone.

Outside of Jaguars

I have been married for 22 years and we have two sons, Frank and Andrew. We have two dogs, Rizzo, a Border Terrier and May, a Black Mouth Cur rescue.

I love outdoor activities such as boating and camping. I also love gardening and upcycling/painting furniture.

I believe each student should strive to do their best in all things. A positive attitude, humility, gratitude, integrity and hard work are essential to success. I also teach our students to always be kind to everyone.

Jaguar Values

  • My best memory as a teacher is when my class of 2005 earned 1st place in the Academic Olympics!
  • I miss being a classroom teacher and connecting with the students in that capacity.
  • My favorite event of the year is the 8th Grade Graduation.
  • One of the most inspirational events at OLOL was when our pastor was elevated to become a Bishop. (Bishop Fernando Isern)
