About Myself
I love to travel, learn about new things and places. I have zip lined in the mountains of Puerto Rico, gone on a hot air balloon ride in Sedona, AZ and rode ride across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
I always wanted to be a teacher, and I made that decision in high school. It stems from my desire to help others, especially children. I also wanted to have a fulfilling career that would also balance career and family.
When I taught 1st grade at OLOL, hearing a student read that had been struggling with reading was always inspirational.
I try to teach my students knowledge, manners, kindness, common sense and love for self.
Outside of Jaguars
I've been married for 26 years. I have two daughters who both are OLOL alumni. One is now in college and the other one in high school. I was BLESSED having the best of both worlds everyday with my girls here, too.
I have a dog named Snoopy and two Persian cats named Lola and George. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.
We raise our children for the world not for ourselves.
Jaguar Memories
- Blowing bubbles and flying a kite during recess.
- Chaperoning an Island of Adventure class trip with 8th graders.
- When I taught 1st grade here at OLOL, one little girl told me that her leg hurt because she was hungry.
- We make "Thunder Cake" after an author study of Patricia Polacco. It was always a surprise for the kids. I would whip out all the ingredients and they would get so excited.
- My favorite event is the Heritage Show. It's a lot of work putting everything together, but the result is very rewarding.
- I love working in an amazing school with amazing people and having my amazing girls with me.
